Barras Art and Design proudly plays host to a new monthly comedy night in the East End of Glasgow.

BAaD Banter Xmas is your next instalment of top festive comedy.

Glaswegian Julia Sutherland was Fred MacAulay’s radio co-host when she stumbled into stand-up as part of an on-air stunt. Her debut solo show Fat Chance, about her weight loss, was commissioned as a half hour special on BBC Radio 4 and she hosted The Good The Bad and The Unexpected, and A Funny Kind of… on BBC Radio Scotland as well as appearing on Breaking The News and Radio 4 Extra Stands Up. Her TV credits Rory Bremner’s Rory Goes To Holyrood and Scotland’s Historic Year, both on BBC Two.

Went to Obie’s show yesterday at the Edinburgh Fringe. Absolutely brilliant! My face was sore with laughing 😂. If you get a chance, definitely check this guy out!

Ambitious and energetic, Rachael Jackson has been busy. As well as her film work, which saw her in Karen Gillan’s directorial debut The Party’s Just Beginning last year, she cut her teeth on TV in Two Doors Down, Still Game, Scot Squad, Outlander and most recently the aforementioned The State of It, hosted by Robert Florence. Nominated for a Spotlight Prize, Best New Comedian at The Scottish Variety Awards and The Scottish Comedy Awards, you might also recognise her as the face of Irn-Bru from a nationwide advertising campaign. She also took her show Bunny Boiler to the Fringe in 2015 and 2017.
